On the Ontological Status of Mechanisms and Processes in the Social World

Abstract This paper gives a philosophical outline of the importance plausible ontologies in social sciences and argues how mechanisms processes should be placed as foundation world. The argumentation is mainly based on critical appraisal use works Norbert Elias, Charles Tilly, Jon Elster. I start by elaborating inquiries scientific interest evolve to shed light cases, facts things that constitute such facts, whilst actual explanation demands description processes.
